We loved this hostel and thought it might be worth noting as a place to stay if you ever find yourself in Iceland. It was beautiful and clean, the staff was friendly, it felt safe, and the people coming and going were nice and easy. This is not a party hostel. It had more of a family feel. There is a fully stocked kitchen so all you have to do is bring food. But they also have a menu of small bites you can order to eat if you’re not wanting to cook. They also have coffee, tea, cocktails, and beer available for purchase. You can rent private rooms, but since we were a group of 7, we opted for the cheaper group rooms. The room had 6 beds, so we shared it with 2 other people, which may sound weird to some, but really it was totally fine. People who stay in hostels get the vibe and there’s a mutual respect for your space and things. If you’re uncomfortable leaving your stuff out you can either lock it up in your car or the hostel has a room they can lock it in. But the staff is there 24/7 and very aware so we didn’t feel the need to do that. We have rented rooms in hostels in Europe and Central America as well and this was hands down the nicest one we’ve stayed in. It’s also in a great location for exploring Vik and South Iceland. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
