starbucks reserve roastery | seattle, wa

This is nostalgia at its finest for me.

Starbucks is to the West coast, what Dunkin is to the East coast. You can’t go far without seeing one.

When the first Starbucks Reserve Roastery opened in Seattle in late 2014, I fell in love. It felt like the Willy Wonka factory of coffee. There are so many cool features of the building, interesting drinks, it had a library, a bar, and a pizza restaurant. They roasted their beans and offered an exclusive menu that no other Starbucks offered. They made a hot orange latte with an inch of cold cream on top that I couldn’t stop thinking about. Honestly, I don’t know if I’ve ever had a coffee I loved more. It’s called the Americana con crema and in writing this post I discovered that Starbucks posted the recipe in 2016! Ok, running off to make this now…

But seriously, I am not a huge Starbucks fan. If anything, it reminds me of home and pioneering and for that, I love to go now. But something about The Roastery draws you in and makes you want to stay. It’s different from any other Starbucks experience you’ve had. If there is a Reserve near you, you should go.
