Do you love coffee?
If you do then you know there are a slew of ways to make it. Just visit my friend Holly’s house (π) and you’ll see how much real estate such ways can consume. And if you hail from the PNW (hi!) then you pretty much don’t have a choice…it’s written in your DNA to care.
We were gifted a Chemex recently (thank you YOU! π€) and that has been our preferred choice of coffee brewing as of late. It uses a pour-over brewing method with a medium coarse grind similar to what you would use for a French Press. You’ll want to use filters made for Chemex cause they’re thicker. Regular filters will break on you (been there done that π¬). CoffeeSock makes reusable organic cotton filters that last a year. We haven’t tried them but I want to! The thicker filter reduces the pass-through of bitter solubles resulting in a bright, delicate cup of coffee. Delish! Plus you don’t get any grit slipping through like you do with a French Press. Such a great gift that we use every day!
How do you like to make your coffee?
