I wrote about my love for Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions here but I like to mix it up with my mascara and these are my other two favorites. I rotate between the three. I’ve been using these mascaras for years and here is why I adore these two.
Honest Beauty Extreme Length Mascara + Lash Primer is EWG Verified. It’s the cleanest of the clean. It has a primer you put on first and then apply the mascara. I like to leave the primer on for about 2 minutes to let it dry a little before applying the mascara. There’s something about moisturizing the lashes as a first step that feels so good. This is a great option for people with eye makeup sensitivities since it’s so “clean”. You can look at the ingredients here.
Tower 28 MakeWaves™ Mascara is my other go-to. I love the wand on this one. It helps to coat and lengthen each lash. And the curve makes it easy to hit the lash line.
Both mascaras are great at volumizing and lengthening and both are buildable. If you want your lashes to pop, these will do it. When it comes to the flake test…Tower 28 wins. I have never had flaky lashes with Tower 28. I hardly ever do with Honest, but on very rare occasions (and this could be more user error than anything) I have had some flakiness at the end of the day. The wand on Tower 28 does get clumpy sometimes which I’m not a huge fan of but it’s easy to wipe them off on the inside of the tube before applying. That being said, these formulas are so nice to work with and I love rotating between them.
