I tried this DIY hair spray that my friend Kylea posted in 2021 and I’ve been using it ever since. I’m not a huge hair product girl but I am picky about my shampoo, conditioner, and hair spray. This recipe requires less than 2 minutes of your time and only requires things I’m pretty sure are already in your kitchen.
I reused this travel-size bottle I bought at CVS but you can use any spray bottle you have around the house. No need to buy one if you don’t need to.
DIY HAIR SPRAY RECIPE
Add 1/2 tablespoon of white sugar with 2oz warm water. Stir to dissolve. That’s it!!
TIPS:
- You can adjust the “hold” on this by adding more sugar to the water. This ratio makes a medium-hold hair spray but if you want it to be stronger just add more sugar.
- Make it smell extra nice by adding your favorite essential oils. Lavender, Rosemary, and Cedarwood are all awesome for your scalp and hair but you can use whichever one(s) you like. Just make sure the sugar water is cool before you add the oils since they can’t handle high heat.
- If you have a bigger bottle, adjust as necessary.
Let me know if you try this one out! It’s a staple over here!
