In an effort to find a cheaper version of Le Creuset over a decade ago, I stumbled across Lodge and haven’t looked back. I have two of their cast iron skillets and two of their Dutch Ovens and we use them almost daily. They are kitchen staples that I couldn’t be without even when we lived in our 80 sq ft vanlife Promaster. If you haven’t yet converted to cast iron cooking, the Dutch Oven is a great way to start since its porcelain enamel interior makes it super easy to cook on and clean up. The one pictured above is 4.5 quarts and is perfect for cooking dinner for Jake and me and the 6-quart one is nice for preparing food for a group. It’s perfect for making soups, sauces, rice dishes, curries, and even baking bread. PLUS it’s affordable, will last you FOREVER, and it’s cute to boot! #1 fan! (If you’re doubting my opinion, just look at the 10s of thousands of reviews on Amazon 😘.)
TIP: If you want to up the cute factor, you can swap out the knob for this one.
