gen see liquid eyeshadow

Gen See, how I love thee. It’s true. This oily-lidded gal never thought she’d swear by a liquid eyeshadow but here we are!

I swore off eyeshadows (liquid and powder) for years because over time I would always develop a rash on my eye from them. But clean beauty has upped their game over the past few years and I have been pleasantly surprised to find companies that sell formulas that have staying power and don’t cause any irritation whatsoever. Amazing!

Enter Gen See. I haven’t used any other eyeshadows since discovering these a year ago. I’m sure these are not the end all be all of eyeshadows on the market but the formula really works. They have the most beautiful colors in matte and metallic. They are creamy and workable and easy to apply. And once they dry, they stay put! Again, I have eyelids that love to crease as the day goes on and these eyeshadows rarely do that (at the end of a super hot, humid day, they do…but I don’t know if I’ll ever find a clean beauty eyeshadow that doesn’t under those circumstances). I LOVE the color First Light. It gives your lid a subtle shimmer which brightens up your eyes. But you can also build it up to be more of a fun, nighttime shimmery look as well. And the matte options in Reef and Plush are great for everyday use as well. I like Plush for adding dimension to my hooded lids. It creates a nice shadow. I can’t wait to try Orchid next. (UPDATE: Orchid is a new favorite eyeliner! You really can’t go wrong with these 😍) The metallic colors also work as highlighters and the matte as contours.
